Jason narrows it down and picks what he believes to be the top 10 GameCube games. Primary Mobile Navigation. Xbox One; PlayStation 4. Nintendo's latest splat-tastic IP, Tower Cont. Top Ten: Third Party GameCube Games. Nintendojo looks at the ten best third party titles to grace Nintendo’s little purple box! List of Nintendo GameCube games. The GameCube and controller (Indigo color) This is a list of 660 games released for the GameCube video game system. The GameCube is Nintendo's fourth home. October 10, 2006 (NA). The 10 best Gamecube games ever made. These are the most popular and the ten must own games for Nintendo Gamecube. Top Ten Game. Cube Games . This time we’ll be looking at the first purely disc based Nintendo system: the Nintendo Game. Cube. While it certainly didn’t light the sales charts on fire, the Game. Cube continued Nintendo’s legacy as an exceptional publisher and the third party support was noticeably better than the Nintendo 6. Nintendo overwhelming it in this vote). Let’s get to it, here are the Top Ten Game. Cube games! Number 1. The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventure. While Four Swords Adventures unfortunately had its image tainted by Nintendo’s unpopular connectivity push, the game itself is much better and deeper than it initially appeared, whether you can get four people and Game Boy Advances together or not. The only 2. D console Zelda in the past two decades, Four Swords Adventures has classic Zelda combat and puzzles with graphics and gargantuan enemy rushes that never could have been done on older systems. Having levels instead of an open world may seem like a huge drawback, but essentially having 2. Zeldas. Even by yourself controlling all four Links is never frustrating, and the game’s even better with friends. Number 9: Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. After the emotional roller coaster that the original Metroid Prime put gamers through turned out to be worth it tenfold, there were naturally high expectations for the sequel. Taking a few pages from Zelda with a light/dark world mechanic and a harder, darker sequel on the same system, Echoes is a somewhat controversial entry in the Metroid series. Samus was challenged more than ever with large sections of the world draining her health and ammo limits for most of her beams. While some disliked the often confusing dual world mechanic that went against Metroid conventions and punished you for exploration, others enjoyed the increased difficulty in both combat and puzzles. Regardless of how it stacks up to other Metroids, however, Metroid Prime 2 is a Retro game and well worth playing. Number 8: Super Mario Sunshine. Now here’s a game that got put into a rough position. The first new Mario platformer after Super Mario 6. D gaming as a whole six years earlier, Super Mario Sunshine had ridiculous expectations to live up to. It may not have succeeded in that for most people, but after the hype, SMS is still a very good platformer that lives up to Mario’s legacy in many ways. Mario’s water spraying companion is used in many creative ways for platforming, combat, and puzzle solving. When the game does decide to fully focus on platforming, it is one of the most intense 3. D Mario games. The levels may all be island themed, but they still all have their own identity. Blue coins were a huge mistake, but other than that the game really deserved a better reception than it got when it was new. And it’s not too late, that’s what these lists are for! Number 7: Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. The first three Mario RPGs all radically changed the formula, but on Game. Cube the sub- series got its first direct sequel. The Thousand Year Door is very similar to the original Paper Mario, but better in every way. The settings are more original, the writing is funnier and in some places surprisingly dark, the combat and puzzles are increased in complexity. The paper based graphical style looks incredible with Game. Cube’s power, and still looks great to this day. The game constantly introduces new ideas and abilities, the combat is strategic and satisfying, everything in the game just works perfectly. Top 25 GameCube Games of All-Time. Our picks for the best 25 games ever to hit Nintendo's 'Cube.Still widely considered the best Mario RPG, The Thousand Year Door may well retain its fame for a millennium. Number 6: Resident Evil 4. The only third party game on the list, Resident Evil 4 is good enough to stand with Nintendo’s best. Reinventing the Resident Evil series, RE4 trades horror for intense action and hilariously cheesy one liners. With a fixed behind the character perspective that makes the series’ tank controls feel natural and the ability to actually aim, combat in Resident Evil 4 is incredibly fun. There are hundreds of enemies to shoot down, with some very satisfying melee attack options to help save ammo. The game is gigantic and actually manages to have you escort an NPC without making it frustrating. No matter how overwhelming the odds against you are, the game is always fun and makes you want to keep trying. Number 5: Mario Kart Double Dash. Like many Game. Cube entries in long- running Nintendo series, Mario Kart Double Dash was initially met with quite a bit of negativity for changing things that didn’t seem to be necessary. Two characters per kart means double the items and the possibility of a co- op mode that hasn’t been seen in the series since. Double Dash also introduced the ability to choose karts separately from characters, allowing for much more complexity and strategy in your selection. The stages are more like platforming stages than ever before in the series, stuffed with obstacles and some settings that still haven’t made it into a Mario platformer. It may not have retro courses or online play, but if you want some classic Mario Kart, Double Dash is a great choice. Number 4: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. At Game. Cube’s public debut, there was a demo shown of Link fighting Ganon in a realistic and very detailed art style. At the end of Game. Cube’s life, we finally got a Zelda in that style. Twilight Princess is heavily inspired by Ocarina of Time, and that’s not a bad thing. You’ll revisit areas from that game, redesigned with some of the best graphics on the Game. Cube. There are lots of incredible dungeons and one of the best item lineups in any Zelda game. The combat is a little easy, like all the Game. Cube Zeldas, but the puzzles are creative and often challenging. The issue of the game releasing first on the Wii may have hurt its performance here, however, because the next game is. When the Game. Cube Zelda turned out to star a cel- shaded child Link, the reaction was not pretty. Time heals all anger at Nintendo games, however, and the game can now be appreciated for what it is. With beautiful graphics that still look good to this day, a massive ocean world to explore, and a surprisingly dark story, there are plenty of good things to be found in Wind Waker. The puzzles are up to the Zelda series’ gold standard, and while easy, the combat is very enjoyable. While it’s a little hard to recommend the Game. Cube Wind Waker when the Wii U version fixed the biggest problems (low combat difficulty, time consuming sailing and rupee grinding), the game itself is still great and far better than anyone expected when the art style was revealed. Number 2: Super Smash Bros. Melee. The only game on the list from Game. Cube’s 2. 00. 1 launch year, Super Smash Bros. Melee stands as one of the most improved direct sequels Nintendo has ever made. There are more than twice as many characters as the original Smash Bros., exponentially more modes, and much faster and deeper gameplay. There is an amazing amount of trivia about every aspect of Nintendo packed into the game, and the multiplayer mode is still a constant tournament presence today. The platforming/fighting game hybrid gameplay has been imitated, but nothing outside of the Smash Bros. The Game. Cube controller is so perfect for Smash Bros. A must play for all Nintendo fans. Number 1: Metroid Prime. Metroid Prime is quite possibly the greatest example of a game overcoming pre- release negativity in gaming history. After the Metroid series’ complete absence in the fifth generation, fans were starving and couldn’t have been happier when a Metroid game was announced for the Game. Cube at its public unveiling. Then details starting coming in, and polite words can not describe how furious people became. The new Metroid would be a first person shooter developed by a Texas based developer Nintendo had just acquired. The series was proclaimed dead, video game magazines demanded the game be canceled. As the game drew closer to release, though, something amazing happened. Everything worked perfectly. Metroid Prime was an extremely faithful translation of the Metroid formula into 3. D, the game was a paragon in gameplay and presentation, and Retro instantly went from those idiots who killed Metroid to one of Nintendo’s most beloved developers. One of the only Game. Cube games to be truly appreciated when it was new, Metroid Prime is both the best game on the system and an eternal message of hope for seemingly insane decisions by trusted publishers. Best Game. Cube Games - Top Ten List. The Top Ten. XW1. Super Smash Brothers Melee. There's a reason why every Nintendo fan is chomping at the bit when watching clips of Super Smash Bros. The game is any Nintendo fanboy's wet dream, featuring the best characters from every major Big N franchise. Melee has become the grand stage of fighters, much like Mario Kart is for racing fans. If you do in fact own a Game. Cube, and have yet to grab a copy of Smash Bros, please commit honorable suicide at this time (or we guess you could just go buy it too). You won't find a more addictive fighter on Nintendo's console. The only thing we could add to the game, online gameplay, is already in the works for Brawl, making us a group of very happy campers. I remember how blown my mind was when I saw Link, Mario, Donkey Kong, and Pikachu beating the hell out of each other; imagine the hole in my head after they went from 1. This game, like the Wii with Super Smash Bros. Brawls, made people buy the Game. Cube for just Super Smash Bros. This game had all the big Nintendo characters and even introduced us to some we never knew existed. It had fun stages, fun items, and fun game play. Amazing replay value, easy control, a nice deviation from the usual fighting game, and in my opinion the best fighting game in the world! It's coming out with an amazing sequwl as well. This is my personal second choice, only bested by wind waker. V2. 4 Comments. 2The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. It's amazing how much faith players can put in a franchise, and when that franchise continues (as we want it to), how often our vision is different from the final product. When Nintendo released The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, it was fearless. Everyone expected a mature themed adventure, and fans were split between loving and hating this vision. However, those who dove into Wind Waker found that the magic of the Zelda franchise was still there. The title boasted the same tight control mechanics and brilliant level designs that have together made Nintendo's acclaimed franchise so popular. We've excluded Twilight Princess from the Top 2. Game. Cube list, as it was predominantly a Wii game, releasing first on Nintendo's new console and in much, much higher numbers, though for Wii- less fans out there the one- two punch of Wind Waker and Twilight Princess propels the Zelda franchise into truly legendary status on Game. Cube. That being said, if included Twilight Princess would have been .. Indefinitely all Zelda games are great. Though of course this may not be the greatest it is still a very good game. Like all Zelda games it comes jam packed with puzzles, and dungeons and bosses. But it's a step up with the innovation of a boat. Though it may not sound like a very good feature but trust me. It is actually pretty good. The fact of traveling around the map is fantastic. It just makes exploring better. If you have a gamecube get this game. If you are a Zelda fan get this game. If you don't know what Zelda is punch yourself and get the game. If you don't know what a gamecube is punch yourself and buy one. In the end Zelda is superb. It's really impressive that this is one of the most atmospheric zelda games even though it doesn't have the darker themes like Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess. The cell shaded graphical style really helped this game hold up astoundingly well over time and establish a unique personality for the world and its characters. It is truly a masterpiece and if you own a gamecube, Wii, or Wii u you owe it to yourself to play this game if you haven't already. This game.. This game is 1. That's got to be worth something. V2. 2 Comments. 3Mario Kart: Double Dash!! I love this game. Great controls, character specific items and two characters on one kart are just some of the reasons this is the best Gamecube game and the best Mario Kart entry to date. I spent countless nights playing this game with my dad and beating all of the separate cups, then spending even more countless nights playing the multiplayer with my dad and aunt. This game brigs a new element but I like the new characters up to 2 characters in one kart and I like the feature of the title scream but Mario kart has being up to 2. This is definitely the Second Best game on Game. Cube, it's so much fun! There should be a remake! V1. 5 Comments. 4Super Mario Sunshine. While it may not have made the same ! As Nintendo's top franchise, Mario is expected to deliver the highest quality of gaming possible, teamed with innovation and perfect gameplay. Sunshine fulfilled those expectations in nearly every way, though some gamers still have trouble getting past the game's younger presentation. In the end, however, it all comes down to gameplay for Mario, and while the leap to the Cube may not have been as huge as the N6. Nintendo fan's collection. Did you know that a study in America found that playing Super Mario Sunshine made people more helpful in real life? That means that ever since somebody's been playing Super Mario Sunshine, they decided to do what Mario & his assistant, FLUDD, did in Delfino Isle. Thank you, Super Mario Sunshine. You made people be more helpful. It was a hard decision but this game is fun. I love the gameplay, setting, music, and the adventure. This game has a special place in my heart because of it's memorable characters and intriguing stories. I actually just bought it at Blockbuster for 1. Now that Wii is the new thing and can play Gamecube games, those are the things to get! This is why this game is in fifth! It should be in first place because paper Mario for the Nintendo 6. Mario for the Nintendo 6. I recommend this game for young players! This game is great. Just the sheer adventure element, along with gathering new friends. All the worlds are awesome in there own way, and the bosses never get old. I haven't even finished yet, the last boss is just too hard! This is one of my favourite rpgs. I feel this should be on top of mario kart because it has a fantastic storyline, which is only found in few other game. V1. 0 Comments. 6Metroid Prime. When it all comes down to it, only one game can truly sit at the top of a list, proving what the system was about, pushing gameplay and graphics to the limit, and delivering the most immersive package for console owners. For Game. Cube, Metroid Prime is that game. As a surprising classic released in 2. Resident Evil 4), Metroid Prime redefined Nintendo's classic franchise, and ushered it into a new 3. D era. Shortly following Prime we were again treated to Nintendo's first- person adventure series with Echoes, then by Prime Hunters on DS and eventually the pending release of Prime 3: Corruption on Wii. While other franchises made significant steps during the N6. Twilight Princess, for example, could be considered a progression of Ocarina of Time), Prime got its start on Game. Cube, and it breathed new life into the franchise. It was an amazing rebirth, an incredible Game. Cube game, and one of the top Nintendo titles in over two - kingmjmj. Being a big fan of the Metroid Series, I had to vote for Metroid Prime. For you Metroid fans out there, it was the first chance to finally see in Samuses eyes for the first time. This was the only reason for me to purchase a Gamecube. First it was going to be on the 6. Then it was used to test the gamecube. Later they made it a game again, but it had to be completed in 2. After trashing the time limit they felt they took too long to make the game so they didn't extend it. I don't really care to be honest. I love this game and needs a bit more credit. It honestly isn't that short especially the first time you play it. And it is kind of open world. And catching boos is fun so ya. I like it because you can defeat ghosts. V3 Comments. 8Resident Evil 4. Resident Evil 4 is without a doubt one of the best games on GCN and the most amazing and immersive of the franchise. There really isn't much that can be said that hasn't already been ranted and raved about. All we can really say is that it is essential to any collection. Resident Evil 4 did for the Cube what Super Mario World did for the SNES. It is visually impressive, flawlessly designed and a true vision. If for some amazingly unfortunate reason you have yet to grab a copy (or two - -it's that damn good), grab it now. With Twilight Princess taken from our list of considerations (as it was more a Wii title than a Cube one in the end), Matt Casamassina and Mark Bozon were split equally for our top two picks. Resident Evil 4 is Bozon's top pick on Game. Cube, and IGN Cube's #2 overall; it's one hell of a game. As a joint collaboration between Nintendo, Silicon Knights, and publisher Konami, Snake was given a second life on Nintendo's consoles, including new story elements and weapons, as well as an immersive first- person mode. Aside from being a much- needed addition to the mature- rated games on Game. Cube, Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes showed that Konami still had faith in the console, as it became one of the top cult classic titles on the system, and paved the way for Snake's appearance in the highly anticipated Smash Bros. I've played Resi 5 on the PS3 and nothing it's BS compared to this one.. Thank god I bought this game today (2. I'm talking hundreds of dollars, you can quote me on that.. Need I say anything? V1. 2 Comments. 9Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess. The best zelda game I ever played. And I have played almost all of them. This game ain't childish or cartoonish like the other zelda games, and maybe that's why is not very popular, since most players are little kids (I mean little kids in the mind). The music is great and the graphics are beautiful. But the controls are a little bad. I would also have to go with any Shrek game as well. Wrestlemania 1. 9 the wrestling game is great. Classic, always a great game to play anytime. Compared to Mario Party 3 this looks way better. Mario Party looks like a piece of crap now. This game rules the world forever and always!
